Itinerary

Day 1

Set off from Accra at 8 am. We shall stop briefly at the lake-side town of Atimpoku overlooking the Volta Lake. Seafood is fresh and relatively cheap here.

Should be at Wli town by noon. Check in at the motel, have lunch and rest for 30 minutes. We’ll shall do a 45-minute hike to the base of this most beautiful and totally enthralling waterfall. We’ll spent two to three hours bathing in the waters and having a scenic, serene picnic.

Overnight at the motel at the waterfall. These are hut like rooms – a different kind of motel architecture altogether.

Day 2

Today we visit Tafi Atome village where colonies of Mona monkeys live peaceably side by side with the villagers. After lunch, we head back to base but not before exploring the major landmarks of Wli township. Drop-off at your hotel in Accra.

Itinerary

Day 1

We fly to tamale, a 70-minutes flight. and go by station wagon from Tamale to Mole park. Check-in at the Mole Park Hotel.

We visit the Larabanga mosque, completed in the 15th century, just a few kilometers from Mole.

We also visit the mystery stone – also located in Larabanga – believed by the locals to have powers of protection.

Day 2

The actual safari lasting two to three hours on the Park in a 4×4 off-road vehicle.

Mole National Park covering 4,800 square kilometers of savanna like terrain with steep scarps boasts of over 80 different species of mammal; made up of elephant, kob, hartebeest, roan antelope, water-buck plus over 300 bird species.

Bird-watching at nearby river. We’ll learn how the locals build their huts. Overnight at the Mole Park Hotel.

Day 3

We shall tour tamale – where you will have a chance to taste the hugely popular tasty rice dish called ‘waakye’ and fresh coal-grilled khebab.

Visit to the local arts and crafts market. Here you have a chance to hone your bargaining skills as you haggle with sellers for a get good price.

Itinerary

Early set off (6.30 am) for Cape Coast en route the Kakum National Park.

The Kakum National Park covering 360 square kilometers of evergreen rain-forest. The park is about 170 km west of Accra and just 30 km north of Cape Coast.

By 12 noon we would have finished the tree-top canopy walk and 45-minute hike through the rain-forest (The hike is optional). You can have lunch at any of the two restaurants at the park.

After lunch we shall proceed to the Cape Coast castle, stopping by to watch crocodiles. From there, we go to the important historical town of Elmina. We view the Elmina Castle and the town’s fishing harbor.

By 5 pm would be heading back to base. Should be in Accra by 8 pm. You’ll be dropped off at your hotel.

Day 3

Off by road to Kumasi. Tour the Centre for National Culture, Overnight in Kumasi

Day 4

We tour Manhyia Palace museum, Okomfo Anokye’s sword, Military museum, Craft villages of Pankrono (distinctive pottery) and Ntonso (wood carvings of stools, masks, fertility dolls etc) today. Overnight in Kumasi.

Day 5

We visit the Owabi Wildlife Sanctuary. This habitat hosts winter migratory birds and hundreds of endangered species of Mona monkeys. From there we shall continue our excursion into the Northern Region of Ghana. Overnight at Bui.

Day 6

Today we shall explore the Bui National Park. From there, we continue to Mole National Park. Overnight at the Park’s Hotel.

Day 7

Early morning walk through the park accompanied by armed guard. Afternoon explore Larabanga, etc with guide. Overnight at Park.

Day 8

One last walk into the park and then head for Tamale. Tour of Tamale: enjoy delicious Waakye and Khebab. Catch afternoon flight to Accra. Transfer to your hotel or airport. End of Tour
